Documentary Thumbnail Design : Vox, Johnny Harris and James Jani Style.
Hello Internet, my name is Shashank. I'm a University of Delhi student studying commerce with a flair for design and motion graphics. I've developed my abilities as a thumbnail designer over the years and have had the honour of working with some incredible content creators.
I was initially motivated to pursue thumbnail design when I observed that many YouTube thumbnails lacked the imagination and attention to detail that I felt I could contribute. In addition to making beautiful graphics, I also wanted them to appropriately reflect the video's content and compel viewers to click through and watch.
I get ideas for my thumbnails from a variety of places, including other prominent YouTube video producers as well as my own life experiences and passions. I make an effort to produce graphics that are aesthetically pleasing, educational, and pertinent to the subject matter of the film.
The Vox style thumbnail, which has strong text and striking images, is one of the styles I've grown to be renowned for. Additionally, I've produced thumbnails in the styles of Johnny Harris, James Jani, and Netflix Explained, each of which has its own particular design elements and characteristics.
Here are a few of the thumbnails, I have made:

I mainly use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to make my thumbnails. I begin by choosing most relevant graphics or photos that correspond to the video's subject, and then I layer in text and other design components to produce a unified look and to create a cohesive and visually striking composition.
Naturally, there are issues that come up during the design process. I occasionally have trouble striking the correct mix between content and aesthetic appeal, or I could experience problems with the tools I'm using. I always overcome these obstacles by experimenting with various design components and getting input from clients and colleagues.
My advise to other designers who want to make similar thumbnails is to concentrate on making aesthetically appealing graphics that faithfully portray the video's content. Don't be hesitant to take chances and experiment with different design features, but also be receptive to criticism and input from others in the field. Anyone can become a professional thumbnail designer with effort and commitment.
